Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a 2009third-person shooter based on the live action film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Sometimes the game's title is proceeded by the tag, 'The Game', which remains omitted on the game's box artwork, but appears on the official homepage. The game was simultaneously released on seven platforms: the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions were developed by Luxoflux, which was ported to the Windows by Beenox Studios, while the PlayStation 2 and Wii versions were developed by Krome Studios. A PlayStation Portable version was developed by Savage Entertainment. The game was released on June 23, 2009, one day before the film's release in the United States. Australia received the game one day later, and it hit stores in Europe on June 26, 2009.
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: Autobots and Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: Decepticons are the Nintendo DS versions of Revenge of the Fallen, developed by Vicarious Visions. Similar to the first two games, the DS version is split into two separate games. Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: Autobots follows the heroes' perspective while Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: Decepticons follows the perspective of the villains.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is an action game, in which the players fight battles as the eponymous Transformers. The plot is loosely based on the Michael Bay's movie and once again features the conflict between the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and Megatron’s Decepticons that threaten the mankind.
The players can choose their protagonist from a large selection of available Transformers. Among them the most famous characters from the Generation 1 series: Starscream, Sentinel Prime, Sunstreaker or Megatron. Each of them has its own unique abilities and weapons. The action takes place in various locations all over the world. When fighting for Autobots or Decepticons, we visit exotic places like Cairo or Shanghai.
The game's focus on keeping the gameplay quick paced allows us to instantaneously transform our character from a vehicle into a robot. Furthermore, it also features some characters capable of transforming into flying machines.
